Climate Impact Partners, experts in the voluntary carbon market for more than 25 years, has been awarded Best Offset Retailer for the 12th time and Best Project Developer: Public Health for the 11th time in Environmental Finance’s Voluntary Carbon Market Awards.
The awards, determined by a peer vote within the industry, highlight Climate Impact Partners’ unwavering commitment to quality, trusted partnerships, and delivering tangible climate impact.
“Thank you to everyone who voted for us, we are deeply honoured to receive these awards for the twelfth and eleventh time, respectively,” said Sheri Hickok, CEO, Climate Impact Partners. “The power of the voluntary carbon market is its ability to deliver beyond carbon, impacting emissions whilst taking steps towards closing the gender gap, improving health outcomes, providing new income opportunities, and enhancing livelihoods.
“We are dedicated to building strong partnerships with our amazing project partners throughout the world and our ambitious clients, to scale and deliver these real-world climate solutions.”
Climate Impact Partners’ latest research into the climate commitments of the Fortune Global 500 found that 42% of the world’s largest companies have explicitly stated they will use carbon credits to meet their net zero and carbon neutral goals – up from 40% last year. The data also found that companies using carbon credits are demonstrating greater ambition. They are twice as likely to have set a near term Science Based Target and three times more likely to have a net zero target for their entire value chain.
“We need to do more, faster. It’s great to see that more companies are leaning in and channelling finance to projects that can bring clean, safe drinking water to the two billion people worldwide without, provide access to safe clean cooking fuels and technologies to the nearly three billion people globally without, and unlock the full force of nature as a climate mitigation tool. Our extended thank you to our inspiring, innovative network of project partners throughout the world bringing this to life.”
Demonstrating their continued commitment to building strong partnerships, Climate Impact Partners recently announced its partnership with FORM Ghana. Providing exclusive access to 371,000 high-quality carbon removal credits, from its flagship reforestation project in two locations in Central Ghana. As a working timber business, the project has created more than 1000 jobs - with 40% of these allocated to women - in a community impacted by climate change.
