Climate Impact Partners, experts in the Voluntary Carbon Market for more than 25 years, has been awarded Best Offset Retailer, for the 11th time, in Environmental Finance’s annual Voluntary Carbon Market Awards, recognizing its focus on quality and building trusted partnerships with projects and clients.
Award winners are determined by an annual poll, in which companies from across the industry vote for the best service providers against several quality markers.
Sheri Hickok, CEO, Climate Impact Partners said:
“A huge heartfelt thank you to everyone who voted for us, it’s fantastic to see our continued commitment to quality and building strong, trusted partnerships, culminate in this accolade. This recognition would not be possible without the inspiring, innovative network of project partners we have throughout the world. By working with them we are able to understand the needs of the families and communities on the ground, and the opportunities to conserve and restore nature, through projects that deliver real impact.
“Though the market is facing some challenges, we continue to reinforce our deep commitment to quality and working with the best projects and partners globally, ensuring our clients can confidently demonstrate ambitious climate action.”
Demonstrating the value of partnerships, Climate Impact Partners released the latest video in its series of immersive project visits, showcasing a solar project in India. Working with project partner Orb Energy, carbon finance has enabled the delivery of 160,000 reliable solar power and solar water heating systems to customers throughout the country, while cutting 55,000 tonnes of CO2e a year.
The company released its latest research into the climate commitments of the Fortune Global 500 at Climate Week in New York, which highlighted the disparity between long term climate commitments and the delivery of immediate emission reductions.
The Climate Impact Partners’ team is involved in several initiatives to enable greater private sector impact on climate and biodiversity challenges, and to continue improving the quality and integrity of the VCM, including the Stakeholder Forum of the Voluntary Carbon Markets Integrity Initiative (VCMI), taskforce member of the Biodiversity Credits Alliance, and working with several Digital Monitoring, Reporting and Verification specialists on quality and risk assessment of nature-based carbon projects.
