End to end expertiseMore than a transaction. A partner.

Climate action rarely follows a straight line. Markets move, standards evolve, projects change and internal priorities shift.

That is why our approach starts with your objectives, risk appetite and long-term needs - not with a product. Our experts work alongside your teams to build the right strategy, select the right solutions and manage the risks around them.

From strategy and sourcing to contracting, delivery, claims and communications, you have access to specialists who understand your programme and stay with you as it evolves.

And because we operate across the full carbon market value chain, our advice is informed by what we see in the market, and on the ground.

Deep knowledge. Broad perspective. On-the-ground experience.

Better decisions come from seeing the market from every angle. Our teams combine strategic, technical and commercial expertise with first-hand experience of developing and working with climate projects.

Project developmentGlobal expertise. Local understanding.

We don't just assess projects from a desk - we develop projects from the ground up ourselves. We have teams working in the field and build long-term relationships with local implementation partners, giving us first-hand insight into what strong delivery looks like on the ground.

That experience helps us identify quality and mitigate risk that may not be obvious from documentation or external ratings alone.

It also gives our clients access to selected projects, future supply and opportunities that may not be available through the wider market.

And because we work with project partners over the long term, we can help strengthen projects, respond to challenges and support them as they scale and grow.

A 10-stage process for the highest standard of quality

We don't outsource our judgement to ratings agencies.

Independent standards and external ratings are important inputs - but they are not the final word on quality.

Every carbon project we sell must pass our proprietary 10-stage due diligence process. We combine recognised market standards with our own technical expertise, project knowledge, field experience and assessment of environmental, social, delivery, political and reputational risk.

100% of the projects we sell must pass our due diligence process.

And our process is designed to challenge external assessments rather than simply accept them. 20% of projects rated BBB or above still fail our Due Diligence.

Delivering quality: How we review carbon projects

Strategic advice for a market that keeps moving Make decisions today, with tomorrow in mind

Carbon markets continue to evolve. Standards and methodologies change, high-quality supply becomes more constrained and expectations around corporate claims continue to develop.

Our role is not simply to show you what is available today. We help you understand what those changes mean for your strategy, portfolio and future commitments.

We work with your team to build recommendations around your objectives and risk appetite - ensuring the right balance of project types, geographies, reductions and removals, timing and future supply.

And having worked in the carbon market since 1997, we can distinguish short-term developments from changes that could shape the market for years to come.

Risk managementLeadership with deep market experience

We build layers of protection around your climate programme.

Choosing a high-quality project is important. But corporate buyers also need confidence in contracting, supply, delivery, reputation and they need support if circumstances change.

Our approach manages risk throughout the relationship - from due diligence and legal contracting through to portfolio construction, ongoing monitoring, delivery and communications.

Depending on your objectives, we can build diversification, future supply planning and replacement provisions into your programme.

And we stay involved. This is not a one-and-done transaction. Our teams work alongside you as the market, projects and your needs evolve.

FAQs

Why does Climate Impact Partners carry out its own due diligence if projects are already verified and rated?

Verification and external ratings provide important information, but they are only part of our assessment. Every project we sell must also pass our proprietary due diligence process, which draws on technical expertise, project knowledge and assessment of wider delivery, environmental, social and reputational risks.

Do all projects Climate Impact Partners sells pass the same due diligence process?

Yes. 100% of the carbon projects we sell must pass our due diligence process before they can enter our portfolio.

How do external ratings influence your project selection?

External ratings are one input into our decision-making, not a substitute for our own judgement. Our teams form an independent view of project quality and risk, and some highly rated projects do not meet our own requirements.

How does project development improve your approach?

Developing projects gives us first-hand insight into how high-quality projects are designed, operated and monitored. That helps us assess projects more effectively, build stronger relationships with project partners and provide clients with access to selected projects and future supply.

How do you manage risk beyond due diligence?

Our approach covers more than project quality. We consider legal and contracting risk, portfolio construction, future supply, delivery, ongoing monitoring and reputational risk. Depending on the client's objectives and risk appetite, this can also include diversification and replacement provisions.

What happens if a project or supply changes after we have contracted?

We stay involved throughout the relationship. Our teams monitor projects and delivery and can help clients assess changes, manage supply, consider replacement options and adapt communications where necessary.

How reliable is delivery?

We have an almost 100% on-time delivery record, helping clients plan with greater confidence against public commitments and future climate targets.

Can you help us communicate our climate programme?

Yes. We support clients with claims guidance, communications and PR  support to help them communicate their climate action credibly and confidently.
