Climate Impact Partners

How is Climate Impact Partners different from a carbon credit broker?

We do more than source carbon credits. We develop projects, work directly with project partners and support corporate clients from strategy and selection through to delivery, claims and communication. This gives us deeper insight into project quality, risk and what works on the ground.

Why should I choose Climate Impact Partners?

We combine nearly three decades of market experience with deep technical expertise, project development capability and close relationships with project partners. That means we can help you navigate a complex market, manage risk and access high-quality climate solutions with confidence.

Our approach

Can you help us communicate our climate programme?

Yes. We support clients with claims guidance, communications and PR  support to help them communicate their climate action credibly and confidently.

How do you manage risk beyond due diligence?

Our approach covers more than project quality. We consider legal and contracting risk, portfolio construction, future supply, delivery, ongoing monitoring and reputational risk. Depending on the client's objectives and risk appetite, this can also include diversification and replacement provisions.

What happens if a project or supply changes after we have contracted?

We stay involved throughout the relationship. Our teams monitor projects and delivery and can help clients assess changes, manage supply, consider replacement options and adapt communications where necessary.

How reliable is delivery?

We have an almost 100% on-time delivery record, helping clients plan with greater confidence against public commitments and future climate targets.

Do all projects Climate Impact Partners sells pass the same due diligence process?

Yes. 100% of the carbon projects we sell must pass our due diligence process before they can enter our portfolio.

How does project development improve your approach?

Developing projects gives us first-hand insight into how high-quality projects are designed, operated and monitored. That helps us assess projects more effectively, build stronger relationships with project partners and provide clients with access to selected projects and future supply.

CarbonNeutral® Certification

What carbon credits can be used?

Credits used toward CarbonNeutral® Certification must meet the eligibility and quality requirements set out in The CarbonNeutral Protocol. These requirements are based on independent industry standards.

Can I access previous versions of The Carbon Neutral Protocol?

Yes. Previous editions of The Carbon Neutral Protocol are available for reference, helping certified companies and stakeholders understand how the requirements have evolved over time.

See previous versions

How do we communicate the certification?

Certified companies can use the CarbonNeutral® certification logo and associated claims in line with the communications requirements of The CarbonNeutral Protocol. Our team supports you in reviewing certification-related communications for accuracy, consistency and alignment with the Protocol.

How long does certification last?

Certification is usually valid for one year and must be renewed annually. Renewal confirms that the requirements of The CarbonNeutral Protocol continue to be met and keeps the certification and associated claims current. A small number of certifications are related to a particular activity, such as an event.

Can CarbonNeutral® claims be used everywhere?

No. Regulation of environmental claims varies by market and is changing. We can help you understand what is appropriate for your business and where an alternative certification may be better suited.

Risk management

How quickly can we get started with offsetting?

We are ready to support your climate action today. We will work closely with you to develop a tailored solution, with timelines aligned to your company’s goals, whether you're looking to offset immediately or plan a longer-term strategy. Contact us today.

Do you offer bulk or multi-year offsetting agreements?

Yes, we offer bulk and multi-year offsetting agreements for companies seeking large-scale climate action. These agreements can help secure pricing, ensure access to high-quality carbon credits from trusted partners with financial certainty, and support planning around sustainability goals, including net zero targets. They provide certainty to your finance team with long-term budget planning, help to protect reputation and brand by avoiding risk of falling short on climate targets, and also enable investment in forward-looking carbon removal projects and help build lasting impact through sustained climate finance.

What kind of reporting or certification do you provide?

We provide retirement certificates for each transaction, showing the volume of carbon credits retired, the project details, and the relevant verification standard. Clients also receive supporting documentation to meet internal, stakeholder, or other reporting needs. Our Client Hub offers a centralized, real-time view of your offsetting activity—making it easy to track progress, access reports, and demonstrate impact with confidence.

Can you help us become carbon neutral or net zero?

Yes, Climate Impact Partners helps companies become carbon neutral and work toward their net zero goals.

Through our CarbonNeutral® certification program, we guide companies in measuring their emissions, reducing what they can, and taking responsibility for the rest with high-quality, verified carbon credits.

We also support companies in developing long-term net zero strategies, aligning with international standards and emerging regulations, and selecting credible climate solutions that deliver measurable impact.

Do you offer help with carbon footprint measurement?

Yes, we can help. We have an online calculator that offers a fast and reliable way to estimate and offset carbon footprints of most small business activities. However, it is not designed for achieving CarbonNeutral® certification under The CarbonNeutral Protocol.

If your business has a more complex footprint, is aiming for CarbonNeutral® certification, or plans to offset more than 500 tonnes, please contact us for tailored support and guidance.

Is carbon offsetting tax deductible?

Carbon offsetting may be tax deductible, but it depends on how and why the credits are purchased. If a company purchases carbon credits as part of its operations - such as to meet sustainability goals or reduce environmental impact - those expenses may be deductible as a business cost. In some cases, donations to non profit organizations that develop carbon offset projects may also qualify as charitable deductions. We recommend consulting a tax advisor to understand the specific tax treatment based on your situation and local regulations.

Project partners

Do you provide project finance?

The right financing structure depends on the project.

We can help develop the funding and commercial strategy, structure forward offtake agreements and connect high-quality opportunities with our network of investors and corporate buyers. Our focus is on creating projects that are economically robust and can support credible delivery and long-term project success.

What happens once a project is generating carbon credits?

Our partnership continues.

We can support verification and issuance, bring credits to our established network of corporate buyers, communicate the project’s wider impact and continue working with partners to strengthen quality, manage risk and identify opportunities to sustain or scale impact.

Can you help us determine whether carbon finance is right for our project?

Yes. Carbon finance will not be appropriate for every project.

We can assess the opportunity, explore relevant methodologies and standards, consider feasibility and economics, and help determine whether there is a credible route to generating carbon credits before significant development work begins.

Can Climate Impact Partners develop the project for us?

Yes. Our project development teams can take an opportunity from feasibility and project design through carbon asset development and implementation. We can deploy our own people in the field and work alongside local partners, communities and technical specialists to deliver projects on the ground.

How do you assess project quality?

Every project we take forward goes through our rigorous due diligence process.

We assess the fundamentals of carbon integrity - including whether climate benefits are real, measurable, additional and independently verified - alongside permanence, delivery risk, legal and commercial considerations, safeguards and wider impacts on people and nature.

External standards and ratings can inform our view, but they are only part of the picture. Our own technical expertise and, where relevant, first-hand insight from the field are central to our assessment.

What do you look for in a project partner?

We look for partners with strong local knowledge, high standards of conduct and the capability to deliver credible, measurable impact.

We also value partners that understand their local stakeholders and ecosystems, share our commitment to quality and are prepared to build a long-term, collaborative relationship.

SMEs

Do you provide communications support?

Yes. We support SMEs in communicating their climate action clearly and accurately.

That can include project storytelling, internal communications, customer and stakeholder materials, and reviewing external climate communications to help ensure claims are accurate and consistent with the approach you have taken.

Can our approach grow as our business grows?

Yes. You can start with footprint measurement and purchasing carbon credits online, then develop a more sophisticated approach as your climate goals and requirements evolve.

Can you help us go beyond carbon credits?

Yes. As your strategy develops, we can help you explore a wider range of climate solutions, including Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs), Sustainable Aviation Fuel certificates (SAFc) and helping you achieve specific claims and certifications.

Can you help us decide what climate claim to make?

Yes. The right approach depends on your goals, the action you are taking, where you operate and how you want to communicate it.

We can help you navigate carbon neutrality, contribution claims and other frameworks, as well as evolving standards and regulation.
