Dan Thompson, an expert in the carbon and sustainability markets with over 15 years’ experience, has joined Climate Impact Partners as Director of Global Sourcing.
In his role, Dan will lead the Climate Impact Partners’ sourcing team through both rapid growth and changing market dynamics, securing high quality projects for portfolios to meet increasing client demand for voluntary carbon market solutions.
Dan’s recent experience includes building the European franchise of BGC Partners’ Environmental Brokerage Services business, where he worked with clients to reach their climate goals through specialist brokerage services in both compliance and voluntary carbon markets. Prior to that, he had been actively involved in scaling up the environmental product offering at TP ICAP including the development of a new green bonds initiative. Dan has extensive knowledge and expertise in mobilizing funding for investment in high quality projects with positive environmental and climate benefits.
"As demand for voluntary carbon market solutions continues its dramatic growth, Dan's experience working directly with projects and creating high impact, high quality carbon credit portfolios, will enable us to meet the rapidly evolving interests of our clients," says Vaughan Lindsay, CEO of Climate Impact Partners.
“I am delighted to join a global company fueled by an unrelenting drive for rapid action and results,” says Dan. “Climate Impact Partners continues to pioneer the market’s development and set the standards for quality, and I look forward to working alongside a team of experts who are as committed to delivering climate solutions as I am."
Climate Impact Partners recently announced its recognition as a Best for the World B Corp, and the nomination of one of its exclusive projects, the Rizome Bamboo project in the Philippines, as one of the top 60 solutions for carbon removal by the Musk Foundation. The company has a goal to reduce one billion tonnes of carbon emissions by 2030, working alongside its climate-leading clients and high impact project partners.
