London, 12 January 2026 - Sheri Hickok, CEO, Climate Impact Partners, has been named a winner of the prestigious Women in Sustainability Leadership Awards(WSLA) 2026. This award recognizes Sheri’s engineering-led approach to scaling the carbon markets and her commitment to delivering climate solutions with profound social and environmental impact.
Now in its 12th year, WSLA celebrates women driving sustainability across industries. Winners are selected for their innovation, leadership, and impact on environmental and social progress.
With a background in the renewable energy and automotive sectors, Sheri brings systems-thinking rigor to the carbon markets. Since taking the helm at Climate Impact Partners, she has created a laser-sharp focus on high-integrity, long-term partnerships that bridge corporate climate goals with boots-on-the-ground impact.
Key achievements include:
- Delivering Scalable Impact: Overseen the strategy that has enabled the reduction or removal of 150 million tCO₂e across 600+ projects in 60+ countries, putting the company on a pathway to its moonshot goal of one billion tonnes of CO₂e.
- Pioneering Long-Term Finance Structure: Developed a new investment structure for long-term carbon offtake agreements - including a landmark deal with Microsoft - establishing a blueprint for how private capital can fund decades of climate action.
- Shaping Global Standards: Maintains active leadership in evolving market integrity through engagement with key bodies including the ICVCM, VCMI and as a board member at IETA.
- Creating a Diverse Portfolio of High-Impact Projects: From the first-ever VM0047 project in Asia, innovative financing model for engineered removals to community-led initiatives like clean cooking in Bangladesh and forest conservation with the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.
"It is an immense honor to be recognized alongside such a formidable group of women. Winning a WSLA Award is a signal to other women that we belong in this space and have the power to drive transformative change," said Sheri Hickok, CEO, Climate Impact Partners.
"As an engineer, I view the climate crisis as the ultimate problem to solve. High-quality carbon markets are essential because their impact goes far beyond carbon; they drive generational change. By scaling these solutions, we are doing more than meeting climate targets - we are keeping girls in school, providing clean water to communities, and creating economic opportunities that advance every UN Sustainable Development Goal."
Sheri’s WSLA recognition follows recent accolades for both her leadership and Climate Impact Partners including the Extraordinary Leadership Award from Kettering University, being shortlisted for Women in Green Business’ Leader of the Year Award and completing her first year as an IETA Board Member. Furthermore, Climate Impact Partners was named Best Offset Retailer for the 13th time in the Environmental Finance Voluntary Carbon Market Awards, cementing its leadership in the carbon markets.
The WSLA 2026 event will take place on February 18th, where the winners will be celebrated alongside industry leaders and sustainability advocates. Join us in celebrating Sheri and other sustainability leaders https://www.wsla.global/
